On this day we will visit the Cocora National Park, where we will see the national trees, the famous wax palms, the tallest palms in the world, which can reach up to 60 m, a walk among these special palms, often wrapped in waves of fog, give a mystical air to the valley, will be an unforgettable experience. Located in the central highlands, the park covers more than 590 km², and the specific climate of the cloud forest is favorable for the development of a wide biodiversity. Numerous species of flora and fauna are found in the
area of the park, also called Los Nevados National Park, some of them endemic, such as the wax palm, the yellow-eared parrot, the sloth, the mountain tapir, the guan bird or the hummingbird. Then we will head to the beautiful town of Salento, specific of the coffee region, which has preserved much of its ancient charm, where we can admire the colorful traditional architecture, called bahareque, which blends harmoniously with the relaxed lifestyle of the locals.
We will have the opportunity to buy souvenirs and learn details about the Camino Real.

2:30 pm City Tour
Medellín is the second largest city in the country, capital of the Antioquia region, university, economic, commercial and social center.
We will take a panoramic tour of the city, which will include the most important tourist attractions, such as Bolivar Park, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Candelaria Basilica, Lido Theater, Botero Square, where a series of sculptures by the famous artist Fernando Botero are exhibited, the Palace of Culture, the City Hall and the Palace of Justice. We will visit El Pueblito Paisa, a miniature city typical of the region of Antioquia, located in the center of the city, on a hill, from where we will have a beautiful view over the central area of
Medellin, after which we will go to Comuna 13, considered in the past the most dangerous neighborhood of the city, eloquent example of the social transformations of recent years. Today, this neighborhood that bore the “footprint” of the feared trafficker Pablo Escobar, who is said to have stopped here, has become a real tourist attraction, especially for the street graffiti executed by local artists.
And to see how the city’s infrastructure has developed, we will take a ride on a gondola that is part of the Metro Cable public transportation system.

Guatapé
On this day we will make a trip to Guatape and Piedra de Penol. We will arrive at one of the most spectacular destinations near the big city of Medellin. It is a 200 m high monolith, millions of years old, which can be reached by climbing 740 steps, from where we will enjoy an extraordinary view of the lake – Guatape reservoir and lagoons in the area. Continuing the day, we will head to Guatapé, to explore with the local guide the unique colonial town, with its colorfully painted houses and narrow cobblestone streets. Return to Medellín.

HD 4 hr – City Tour Cartagena with English-speaking guide:
Our City Tour will start with the transfer from the city center to the La Popa Convent. From the convent, that is located on a 150m high hill (highest point of Cartagena) you will have a great view over the whole city. From there, we will proceed to the biggest fort which the Spaniards ever built in South America – the San Felipe de Barajas Fortress. We will visit the whole fort including some of its tunnels, as well as the statue of Don Blas de Lezo.
After this, we will go back to the city center and visit the most important sights with the walled city, such as the official entrance to the walled city: the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj). Behind it, we will find the monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena de Indias (1533). The guide will tell us about the story of Cartagena’s foundation and will also share interesting stories full of legends and pirates. At 8 am in the morning, together with a Spanish-speaking tour guide, we will leave the touristic port of Cartagena by speed boat to start our day trip to the Islas Rosarios. The archipelago Nuestra Señora del Rosario, known as the Islands of Rosario, consists of 28 small islands, which are located about 40 km southwest of Cartagena de Indias in the Caribbean Sea. The journey takes about one hour. Islabela is a great place on Isla Grande – Rosario Island, located in the heart of the Archipielago of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the perfect place to relax and enjoy a unforgettable and calm day. The excellent facilities are ideal to have meals, just relax and/or go for a swim – a selected location with gorgeous sandy beach and turquoise water. Sun beds are awaiting you on the beach and if you prefer a little bit more action, you can take one of the kayaks to explore the surroundings.
